Site Supervisor Richard is a firm believer of being passionate in his work. His philosophy is; if you don’t like what you’re doing or can’t do it well, find something else to do.
Richard became a qualified tradesman in 1992 and a registered builder in 2012. At the age of 16 he left school to become a cabinet maker and hasn’t stopped building things since. In 2002 Richard decided to sink his teeth into the building industry. Going from building little chipboard boxes to larger concrete boxes, he joined Mapel through family connections. He’s been part of the furniture since and is a part-owner/shareholder in the company.
Richard’s favourite bit of the job is getting his hands dirty and seeing the quality of each project come together. His previous roles with the company are well rounded and include various office-based roles over the years.
Richard climbed the corporate ladder and achieved his goals. But after 18 months in the office, he knew his calling laid elsewhere in the company. Building and making a client’s vision a reality is what Richard does best.
As a second-generation family business, Mapel Building has been designing and constructing commercial and industrial buildings in Perth, Western Australia for over 25 years.
