Matthew Roberts, alongside his brother Andrew, form the second generation on the Roberts side of the Mapel Building family.
Matt’s role involves undertaking the structural design aspect of Mapel’s projects. His skills are extensive and he’s also developed his project management expertise over the years. But it’s in the engineering design of Mapel’s projects where his main passion lies.
For Matt, the best part of the job is being a part of bringing a client’s vision to life and the responsibility that comes with the role. He values designing something he can proudly look back on in years to come, knowing it was safely designed and will be built to meet the client’s expectations.
Matt started off as the Project Manager’s assistant in 2005 when he was 19 and graduated from his Civil and Structural Engineering degree (with first class honours) in 2013. When he’s not designing commercial structures, Matt seeks inspiration through yearly travels to countries like Japan, Europe and Bali.
As a second-generation family business, Mapel Building has been designing and constructing commercial and industrial buildings in Perth, Western Australia for over 25 years.
