Mark started out at a carpenter in 1996 before he made a spontaneous move to Perth in 2006.
Originally from South Gippsland, he was completing his apprenticeship over east. But work was slow and Mark was hungry for more. After one late-night shift at the factory he worked at, Mark decided to join his brother and his brother’s girlfriend on their drive to WA. He knew there was an opportunity to finish his apprenticeship in Perth and hasn’t looked back since.
Since then, Mark’s long term goal was to put down the building tools and manage the overall success of construction projects he’s involved with. Leading each project’s vision is what he loves most about the job. Mark looks after Mapel’s pre sales enquiries and takes the project brief through to the design, estimating and contract stages. This includes all presales work and liaison with each client to see the process through.
Mark is a husband, father of four boys and an athlete. When he’s not managing projects, he’s tackling triathlons and running or cycling three-four times a week. Cycling and running have been as much of a part of Mark as his work and family life.
As a second-generation family business, Mapel Building has been designing and constructing commercial and industrial buildings in Perth, Western Australia for over 25 years.
