Andrew Roberts is one of Mapel’s Directors and nominated registered building practitioners. Andrew is someone who believes in going out of his way to find a solution for others. If he doesn’t know the answer, he’ll find someone who does. His motto is; what goes around, comes around. If you do your best for others, they’ll generally do their best for you.
As part owner, Andrew forms the second generation on the Roberts side of the Mapel Building family. His history and skillset bring a depth of experience not matched by many other builders.
Andrew started with Mapel on a part-time basis in 2001 and has been working full time since 2003. Over the years he’s successfully filled various roles within the company as Mapel’s Project Manager, Estimator and Site Supervisor. Now, Andrew coordinates the presale/sales processes and businesses development in addition to his duties as the company’s Director & Registered Builder.
On the side, Andrew is also involved in property development where he engages Mapel’s construction services for the best effect. This expertise, gained from completing a number of his own developments, allows him to see the feasibility of a project from all angles (primarily from the client’s perspective) and has encouraged a firm grasp of the business side of developing commercial projects from a developer’s perspective. This role allows him to put development proposals into practice, which has helped him to understand what works and what doesn’t to provide the best quality outcome and service to Mapel’s clients.
Andrew is married with three kids and maintains an active interest in fitness. He’s currently working on a book, From the Ground Up; which explores the ins and outs of commercial and industrial property development. In all aspects of his work, he firmly stands by the concept of ‘building projects for clients’ not only ‘making sales for the business’, positioning him a dedicated and reliable point of contact within Mapel Building.
As a second-generation family business, Mapel Building has been designing and constructing commercial and industrial buildings in Perth, Western Australia for over 25 years.
